Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Intern / Staff Accountant to join our team for the 2026 Tax Season beginning January 2026. This role is critical to our clients’ financial success, providing support across payroll processing, bookkeeping, and tax preparation. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment and is committed to continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Accurately process payroll for multiple clients using Payroll Relief.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- File federal and state payroll tax returns
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and provide exceptional client support.
Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate client accounting records, including data entry, account reconciliations, and transaction categorization.
- Prepare timely financial reports, offering insights for client decision-making.
- Collaborate directly with clients to ensure timely submission of bookkeeping data.
Tax Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation and filing of individual and business tax returns.
- Review accounting data to ensure accurate and compliant tax filings.
- Provide clients with proactive tax planning and advisory support.
What We’re Looking For:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll processing experience preferred (internship experience counts!).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Payroll Relief and QuickBooks is a plus).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to client confidentiality.
- Tech-savvy, with a willingness to learn new tools and processes.
